I have heard that copper can be toxic, is there a risk of copper toxicity from using these bottles?
The short answer is ‘No’. The levels of copper in the water are completely safe. Copper toxicity is only an issue if you ingest it in large quantities. It is known that water containing levels over 1.0 mg/L should not be used for drinking. However, in all experiments conducted using copper water vessels, the copper content of the water contained low levels which are healthy for you.

How much copper infused water should I drink in a day?
It is highly unlikely that you will drink too much copper infused water. Studies have shown that the copper trace that is found in water after it has been stored in a copper vessel is low and totally safe for consumption. We recommend that 1 litre of copper infused water is drunk a day.

Is copper good for the environment?
Yes! Not only is it a wonderful replacement for plastic bottles but it is a relatively soft, malleable material, meaning that it can be shaped without breaking. Because of these qualities and it being an element, copper can be recycled numerous times and yet retains its quality.

What can the copper bottle do that my at home water purifying system cannot?
Today’s ‘at home’ water purifying systems vary in their sophistication and ability to purify water from the taps. You can get some excellent ones that get rid of the harmful bacteria, viruses and chlorine etc. and yet others that are limited. However, a copper vessel is able to not only purify the water but also charge it with added health benefits. Using normal tap water in your bottle is fine and you will radically improve the quality of the water. However, using a water filter first to rid the water of chlorine and other chemical residues would be best.

My bottle is looking old and worn, why is this?
Copper naturally oxidises and this changes its appearance over time. As your bottle is 100% copper this may happen – it will patina on both the inside and outside of the bottle. Many people like this graceful, ancient appearance. However, if you would rather have the copper shine, follow the simple instructions.
